My training and experience allow me to truly understand couplesfamilies, and individuals from the perspective of their relationships with each other. The people we love can be a source of great joy and a source of great distress. Allow me to help you experience more joy, connection, and hope in your life and your relationships. With acceptance and safety, together we can gain the insight that brings about positive change.

I have extensive training in couples counseling. I also apply a relational and emotion-focused perspective to individual concerns.

I Believe

  • A stronger connection with those we love and a better understanding of ourselves benefits everyone in our lives.

  • Understanding how our past influences our present makes for better social, professional, and personal relationships.

  • Conflicts can foster growth: learning a positive way to handle differences is essential.

  • Emotions can be a source of healing.

My Background

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the States of Arizona and Missouri. I provide in person and Telehealth appointments in Arizona. I provide Telehealth only appointments for Missouri clients. I earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and a Masters of Advanced Studies in Marriage and Family Therapy from Arizona State University. I have specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. and the Gottman Method of couples therapy, developed by the marriage expert and researcher Dr. John Gottman. My work has been with couples, teens, children, families, and individuals of diverse backgrounds, religions, and cultures.

I am a member of several professional organizations including The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) , and The American Counseling Association (ACA) .

Insurance

I don't accept insurance and that can be a benefit to you. My clients invest precious time and energy in the therapy process. I want to respect our therapeutic relationship by providing the best possible experience. By remaining private pay, my clients have a lack of restrictions on the time and frequency of our sessions and enhanced confidentiality. Insurance fee structures create the need for therapists to see more clients in a day in order to maintain a viable practice. Being a private pay therapist, I can structure my schedule so my clients have my full attention and an experience that respects their efforts.
